Skill Development Phase
Independent SICS Exposure
Focus Area:
All steps of SICS surgery, free-hand SICS techniques.
Training Components:
- Assisted & supervised surgeries
- Logbook & OSCAR analysis
- Wetlab practice (including 3 initial phaco steps)
- Video sessions & pre/post-operative patient management
Transition Phase
SICS Complication Mgmt → Phaco
Focus Area:
Managing SICS complications, introduction to Phacoemulsification.
Training Components:
- SICS complication handling & live video discussions
- Phaco wetlab training
- Observations with structured feedback
- Pre- and post-surgery clinical management
Advanced Phase
Phaco & Complication Mgmt
Focus Area:
Independent Phaco training, complication recognition & management.
Training Components:
- Phaco surgeries under supervision
- Live complication observation & discussion
- Video-based learning modules & OSCAR analysis
- Comprehensive pre- and post-surgical care
