Phase H1

Foundation Phase
Basics of SICS

Focus Area:

Initial surgical exposure, observation-based learning, understanding OT workflow.

Training Components:

  • OT & OPD observations
  • Logbook & OSCAR analysis
  • Wetlab practice & video discussions
  • Pre- and post-surgery clinical management
Phase H2

Skill Development Phase
Independent SICS Exposure

Focus Area:

All steps of SICS surgery, free-hand SICS techniques.

Training Components:

  • Assisted & supervised surgeries
  • Logbook & OSCAR analysis
  • Wetlab practice (including 3 initial phaco steps)
  • Video sessions & pre/post-operative patient management
Phase H3

Transition Phase
SICS Complication Mgmt → Phaco

Focus Area:

Managing SICS complications, introduction to Phacoemulsification.

Training Components:

  • SICS complication handling & live video discussions
  • Phaco wetlab training
  • Observations with structured feedback
  • Pre- and post-surgery clinical management
Phase H4

Advanced Phase
Phaco & Complication Mgmt

Focus Area:

Independent Phaco training, complication recognition & management.

Training Components:

  • Phaco surgeries under supervision
  • Live complication observation & discussion
  • Video-based learning modules & OSCAR analysis
  • Comprehensive pre- and post-surgical care
